The 3rd tee at Full Moon Resort offers a technical shot for the disc golfer, while moving users to one of the highest points on the site to take in the sweeping views of the Catskill mountains and surrounding landscape.
Highly trained within the fields of Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning, Explore Disc Golf aims to provide disc golf course design services for all scales of implementation. From large scale establishments with championships course design to residential scale implementation, Explore Disc Golf is simply interested in bringing this healthy, environmentally-sound activity to the public. Disc golf can coexist amicably with multi-use sites and is a wonderful way of taking advantage of underutilized space such as unbuildable slopes, ridge lines, riparian corridors and conservation areas. Using disc golf as a conduit to interact with our environmental surroundings, we use the course as a framework to educate the public about the sport of disc golf and the restorative benefits of nature. We provide course designs to establishments of all forms, including, but not limited to: School and Park Systems, Residential and Housing Developments, and Temporary Courses.
Site planning is available in conjunction with course design, or utilized as a standalone service. This service is necessary to make sure you comply with all zoning regulations and have the best possible strategy for your installation. From zoning regulations and parking/traffic studies to taking inventory and creating an overall site layout, site planning insures the success of your investment. Traditionally, site planning is conducted prior to any course design, and thus lumped together in the end package, but site planning is offered for courses that already have a designer chosen. We just want to ensure that you are following the correct guidelines and taking the proper steps to maximize your investment and promote the sport in a professional manner. Site planning will also provide you with a terrific master plan for future growth, as we create functional space in such a way that it leaves room for future holes, installations and improvements.
Consultations are a wonderful way to wrap your mind around the scope of a project, or to pick our brains on everything from site planning and design to business plans and merchandising. Consultations can be done through phone interviews, Skype conversations or face to face meetings. We can help provide insight on any service we provide, or even walk a proposed course with you. We’re able to give helpful hints on existing courses or point you in the right direction from a project’s beginning stages. Business plans are available for projects with a much larger scope than the traditional course, addressing everything from parking and store functionality to suggested sales and projected income. We’re here to help in any way we can and look forward to providing consultation services to interested parties.
We here at Explore Disc Golf are hands on from the design level down to the installation of baskets. With years of experience in the field and offices at design-build landscape firms, we are highly trained in both hardscape and softscape construction. Our design-build team can be utilized in conjunction with our designs, or contracted to install a course that has been previously designed and needed for our man power and expertise. Tee pad, signage, and basket installation are the main focus, but installations of flower beds, walkways, wet or dry-laid stone walls and more are all within the scope of this division.
